Viktoria Haack (Canada) is a British-born, globally published photographer, educator and Nikon Canada Ambassador based in British Columbia. Working across landscape, nature, portrait, wedding, editorial and commercial photography, she finds a profound connection in the world around her and aims to inspire a greater appreciation and respect for the natural environment through her images.
Originally from the UK, Viktoria made British Columbia her home in 2007. Her background in fine art and anthropology, together with her love of nature, has shaped a thoughtful and observant approach to visual storytelling. Guided by the philosophy to “tread lightly,” she looks beyond the obvious and searches for the quieter stories, emotions and connections within every subject she photographs.
Before becoming a professional photographer, Viktoria worked in the nonprofit sector in conservation and animal welfare. That experience continues to influence both her photography and her commitment to responsible practices in nature. She is a member of the Canadian Conservation Photographers Collective and Nature First, using her work not only to celebrate the beauty of the natural world, but also to encourage greater care for the places and wildlife around us.
Viktoria’s work has been published and featured internationally through organizations and publications including the BBC, CBC, the National Trust, Vogue Italia, N-Photo Magazine and Outdoor Photography. As an experienced speaker, educator and photography competition judge, she enjoys sharing her knowledge and encouraging others to develop both their creative vision and a deeper connection with their subjects.
Whether photographing an intimate landscape, a portrait or an important moment between people, Viktoria’s goal remains the same: to share with viewers not only what she sees, but, more importantly, what she feels.
