Will Wilson

Will Wilson is a wildlife photographer, writer and conservation storyteller based in Tanzania. Following an extensive career in the British military, Will moved to Rwanda in early 2021, giving him the opportunity to pursue his long-standing passions for photography, wildlife and conservation. By immersing himself in the natural world, he developed a particular love for the remarkable birdlife of East Africa. In mid-2025, Will and his family moved to Tanzania, where he continues to explore and photograph Africa’s wildlife.

His first book, Falling for the Birds of Kigali, was published in early 2023 and celebrates the birdlife of Rwanda’s capital while highlighting the conservation work taking place there. He later published Following the Birds of Rwanda, expanding his focus to the country’s diverse wildlife, natural history, habitats and ecology.

Will shares his passion with others through writing, photography workshops, guest-speaking events, conservation work and social media, encouraging a greater appreciation and understanding of the natural world.
