Fi Bunn

Fi Schroeter-Bunn (UK) is a Swiss-British Alpine photographer and visual artist whose work explores the beauty, atmosphere and changing landscapes of the mountains. With a Scottish father and Swiss mother, Fi spent childhood holidays hiking through the Scottish Highlands and Swiss Alps, where she developed a lifelong connection with wild spaces. Her father was a keen amateur photographer, while her own background in art and graphic design helped shape her strong sense of composition and visual storytelling.

After spending many years working in humanitarian aid and advocating for minority communities in the Middle East, photography became an important creative space of her own. Encouraged by friends and later by curators at The Photographers’ Gallery in London, Fi began sharing her work more widely. Her Alpine photography has since appeared in publications and been exhibited in the UK, Switzerland and Italy, including at the Mall Galleries in London and the Matterhorn Museum in Zermatt.

Fi’s long-term connection with the Alps has also allowed her to witness the visible retreat of glaciers and the changing character of familiar mountain landscapes. Through projects such as Beyond the Eyes and her work with organizations including GlacierHub and the John Muir Trust, she uses photography not only to celebrate the beauty of wild places, but also to encourage reflection on environmental change and our responsibility to protect the natural world.

Whether waiting hours for the clouds to lift above the Matterhorn or presenting her images as large-scale prints, Fi hopes to create photographs that draw people into the landscape, stir an emotional response and inspire a deeper connection with the places around us. She also believes strongly in the value of creative communities and in artists supporting one another, sharing ideas and using their work to help others see the world differently.
