Gary Holpin

Gary Holpin is a professional landscape photographer, author, speaker and photography educator based in Devon, South West England. After a 30-year career in science and technical roles with the Met Office, Gary discovered an unexpected talent for photography in his forties. What began as a hobby soon grew into a passion and eventually became his full-time profession.

Having spent many years living far from the coast in the South East of England, it is perhaps fittingly ironic that Gary is now particularly well known for his seascape photography. Inspired by the South West Coast Path, he taught himself photography while walking its entire 630-mile route, developing a deep connection with the landscapes and coastline of Devon along the way.

Today, Gary’s landscape photography is widely published and has received national awards. Alongside creating images of Devon and the wider South West, he shares his knowledge through photography workshops, training and talks, helping individuals and businesses develop their own photographic skills. His work also extends into business, property and drone photography.
