Lynn Fraser

Lynn Fraser (UK) is an award-winning travel and documentary photographer and writer based in the Scottish Highlands. A former solicitor and archaeologist, she now helps run her family’s fruit-farm business while using photography to explore the connections between people, place, history and everyday life.

Lynn received her first camera, a Kodak Instamatic 110, when she was young, but only began to recognize photography as an important creative part of her life many years later. Her interest in history and archaeology continues to shape the way she looks at places, drawing her toward the people, traditions and layered stories found within them.

When travelling, Lynn prefers to spend time observing and finding her place before taking out the camera. Whether sharing time with Kazakh eagle hunters in Mongolia or sitting in a boat with oyster harvesters in The Gambia, she values conversation, experience and human connection as much as the photographs themselves. Her work is often less about collecting images than slowing down, paying attention and allowing stories to reveal themselves naturally.

Named Overall Winner of Amateur Photographer of the Year 2024, Lynn has exhibited her work in London, Milan, Paris and across Scotland. Through her Substack, My Journey with a Camera, and projects including The Journey Beyond, she shares reflections on photography, travel and the quiet magic found in ordinary moments — both in the Highlands and farther afield.
