Peter is an Astronomy hobbyist who took up his interest when retiring some years ago. Having been bought a telescope by his family as a retirement present, he moved on from visual observation of planets, stars and other celestial objects to photographs of what he could see.
As a result, his efforts drew the attention of various publications and in 2022 he was invited to appear on BBC's flagship astronomy show, The Sky At Night to demonstrate what could be achieved using modest equipment no more complex than a mobile phone.
Peter's career was varied, most recently being a project manager who was instrumental in delivering the world famous Oyster Card in 2003. This revolutionary contactless travel pass is used by millions and led to the surge of contactless applications such as bank payments.
