Carolyn Mendelsohn is an artist, portrait photographer, Nikon UK Ambassador and Royal Photographic Society Ambassador. Her work follows a strong visual narrative and is rooted in the lives and stories of people and places. Alongside her personal projects, Carolyn works across portrait commissions, commercial photography, documentary and lifestyle.

Carolyn is internationally recognized for her portraiture, including her acclaimed portrait series and book Being Inbetween, published by Bluecoat Press. She is also the founder of Through Our Lens, a workshop and mentoring program that empowers people to tell their own stories through photography. Her work has received numerous national and international awards, including Portrait of Britain in 2017 and 2019, and the 2020 Julia Margaret Cameron Award for Portrait Series.

Her photography has been featured by publications including The Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, Le Monde, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Yorkshire Post, Click, The British Journal of Photography and Professional Photography, as well as many other national and international publications in print and online.
